TIPS: ***Keep in mind the organizing process has emotional, mental and spiritual components to it.
Here are some tips to help you stay on track and motivated to succeed with your personal organizing goals.
  • Think big. Imagine. Dream.  Plan. Act.
Believe there’s no limit to what you can do. Usually the only one stopping you from success is yourself.
As Henry Ford says, “If you think you can, you’re right. If you think you can’t you’re right too.”

  • Realize there are many ways to get desired results.
There is no “one right way” to organize your space, time or career. The way you choose to do so will depend on your preferences, abilities, time, and expectations. My goal is to help you discover what works best for you and what keeps you from moving forward.  As you probably know by now, two people can get to the same location using very different routes, but in the end, they still get where they wanted to go!

  • Revitalize.
Take frequent breaks to rest. Organizing in itself can be tiring, but the end result is you, your space and others in your space feel more energy afterwards. Drink lots of water. Eat snacks. Wear comfortable clothes. Stretch. Stop and be still.

  • Organizing is a skill that can be learned if you have the desire.
Many people assume you have to be born with a knack for organizing or have a “Type A” personality
to keep things in their place. This is false. With the right tools and resources you can gain confidence and the know-how to organize.

  • Free yourself from the expectation of perfection:
No one is perfect. Organizing is not about perfection, it’s about progress. Allow yourself flexibility, time and space to prepare, learn, and grow as you move forward with your goals and acquire new skills. Your goals may change in the process. If unrealistic ideals of perfection are inhibiting your ability to enjoy the process, try changing your perception of the situation or of yourself.

  • Dealing with feelings of fear and overwhelm:
Do you feel overwhelmed, doomed or are you fearful at the thought of getting organized?
You aren’t alone. When faced with organizing a room, time, business or your career
it can be overwhelming and you may begin to feel helpless. Remember these feelings are temporary
and once you begin to take steps towards the end results, you will feel more in control of the situation and
able to face the tasks at hand. Inaction leads to stagnation.
Action is a catalyst for accomplishment. Contact me if you need an energy boost to get started!
